How To: OpenSea Account Setup

by | Jan 31, 2022 | FLOTE token, Instructional, NFTs | 2 comments

Home stretch! I bet you’re excited to see you newly minted Flote Plank Owner NFTs. The best way to do that is over on OpenSea, the largest and most established NFT marketplace. This is also where you can buy and sell your Planks on the secondary market.

A couple things you should know first. Your NFTs are held in your wallet (well technically they are on the blockchain, but that’s a conversation for another time) they are not stored on OpenSea. OS just displays them once you connect your wallet, and manages the sale of them should you choose to part with your plank. You can view the entire collection of Plank NFTs on our collection page, but to see yours, you’ll want to set up an account and view them within your profile. Here’s how that’s done.

Desktop Browsers

1. Open your browser and visit https://opensea.io

2. Ensure your MetaMask wallet is unlocked, if it is not, open the extension and enter your password. After doing so your wallet will be unlocked.

3. On OpenSea, click the account button at the top right hand corner. (It looks like a silhouette of a person)

4. The screen that appears will prompt you to connect your wallet to the site.

5. Since we set up MetaMask in previous steps, we will select MetaMask here.

6. Clicking MetaMask will pop up a MetaMask prompt. Ensure your account that you are connecting to OpenSea is selected here and click “Next”. Sometimes it doesn’t appear to pop up, but is just hiding behind your browser window.

6. Clicking MetaMask will pop up a MetaMask prompt. Ensure your account that you are connecting to OpenSea is selected here and click “Next”. Sometimes it doesn’t appear to pop up, but is just hiding behind your browser window.

7. The next screen will describe what sort of permissions your site will have in terms of interacting with your wallet. Click connect after reviewing this screen.

8. Once connected, you will be taken to your OpenSea profile page. Here you can edit your username, profile and cover photos, as well as view your shiny new Plank, any other NFTs you have collected.

Mobile Devices

1. Open your Metamask app and open the menu at the top left of the app window.

2. Tap “Browser” in the menu that appears.

3. Tap on the search/url bar and type in https://opensea.io

4. Once on OpenSea, tap the menu button at the top right of the page.

5. From the menu that appears, tap on “Connect wallet”.

6. A new menu will appear, select “Metamask” from the menu.

7. You will be prompted to allow your wallet to connect to OpenSea. Tap “Connect” at the bottom of the prompt.

8. You are now set up on OpenSea and can view you NFTs and customize your profile.
