The team at Flote.app is happy to announce today the launching of our new Site Status page visible at https://flote.biz/flote_status which will contain regular updates about the current condition of the Flote site and Android APK.
The Site Status page is broken down into four sections:
This section includes timestamped reports about bugs and system issues that the team is currently tracking as well as work-around solutions to these problems where known. If you’re experiencing an issue with the Flote website or Android APK, you can check here first to see if the issue is has already been reported and when a resolution can be expected.
This section will contain a record of outages related to network and infrastructure issues so that you can see at any time if there is a problem that we have become aware of which may be beyond the control of our staff. This might include such things as our hosting provider undergoing maintenance or disruptions in internet service for specific locations or geographical regions.
This section will provide information about the current state of new features and development work, including our v1.0 codebase and new elements that will be added to it going forward. Think of it as a kind of version history that will let you know where we are with projects currently in the works.
All bug reports and updates will be archived here as they’re moved off the Current Issues section so that you can see historical information about issues we’ve encountered and what we did about them.
The objective of the Site Status page is to provide you with as accurate and timely information as we can about the Flote platform. For the now this page will be manually updated, but in the near future we have plans to add an automated component which will provide you with “green light” information about specific elements of the site (posting, chat, streaming, etc) so that you can see at a glance which portions of the service are operating properly and which may be suffering from loading or other issues.
While it is our desire and intention to keep the site up and running smoothly, we realize that there will be bumps along the way. We hope that providing this information to you will help you to understand not only when something has gone wrong but also why and when you can expect it to be resolved. We feel we owe this level of transparency to you and we hope you will appreciate the communication as much as we appreciate your patience and understanding when things are less than optimal.
Of course, you can always reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or to me personally at email@example.com with your bug reports, ideas and comments. Whether you have good news or bad, we’re always happy to hear from you.
